Important Resolutions made at 2014 DLC Stakeholder Meeting
Two important resolutions were discussed and adopted by DLC at the meeting held in San Diego, the U.S. last week, i.e., from Jul 29, 2014 to Jul 30, 2014.
One of the resolutions is the adoption of Product Verification Performance Test Policy (PVPT), also referred to as Challenge Procedure. That is to say, if any manufacturer or DLC member believes that any product sold by a manufacturer in the market actually fails to meet DLC's requirements or the performance data claimed on DLC's official website, a challenge can be made to DLC. Upon acceptance, DLC will authorize related organizations to conduct market sampling and testing. The products that are proved to be non-conforming will be removed from DLC's official website and such removal will be announced to the public. Those challenged manufactures proved to fail for several times will be punished.
Another resolution is the issuance of Technical Requirements Table V3.0. The main difference between V3.0 and V2.1 is the newly-added requirement for performance level. The requirements for the first level are equal to that of V2.1. As the new addition to V3.0, the requirements for the second level are 35% higher than that for the first level while the government subsidy granted to the second level is much higher than that granted to the first level. The second difference is the newly-added "Other" category, for which clients may apply if they cannot find the matched category in the old version. DLC's scope available for application is thus enlarged.
